- Housecoat is formulated with a resin-based additive that gives the paint film hydrophobic properties. Advanced Moisture Shield Resin Technology resists the effects of dew or light rain on the newly painted surface in half the time as conventional paints. Painting outdoors when rain is imminent should be avoided. However, this resin technology will help guard against water spotting, streaking and surfactant leaching under less than ideal conditions. This additive is not wax or silicone-based (like most water-repelling products are) so Housecoat can be re-coated without any special preparations beyond normal application directions.
